Welcome to the JV Music store! We are your source for finding arrangements for Brass Quintet, Brass Ensembles, Concert Band and more.
All our arrangements are by Jari Villanueva, a former member of the Air Force, where he served for 23 years with the United States Air Force Band in Washington, DC. During his time in the band, he held various roles, including trumpeter, bugler, assistant drum major, staff arranger, and music copyist. He is regarded as the country’s foremost expert on military bugle calls, particularly the call of Taps, which is played at military funerals.
Brass Band Journal The Firth Pond Publishers
23 pieces for Brass Band
In 1853 Firth, Pond and Company of New York began the publication of its Brass Band Journal, probably the first American publication of saxhorn pieces. The longevity of these attractive compositions and arrangements by G. W. E. Friederich is attested to by the fact that they were still being offered for sale in the 1870s. Friederich was an intensely active composer and arranger for Firth, Pond & Co. in the mid-1850s, producing the twenty-four pieces that make up the Brass Band Journal, another twenty-four arrangements of pieces for social orchestra, and miscellaneous small works. His name disappears as suddenly as it appears with the publication of the quickstep.
Although there are 24 pieces listed here, one is missing from the original collection.
The selections are scored for:
1st E Flat Saxhorn
2nd E Flat Saxhorn

2st Eb Tenor Saxhorn
